August 20th, 2014: Call for Contributions is released.
October 15th, 2014: Proposal deadline (500 words max, including title and author name + brief bio, submitted to the editors (email@example.com). Abstracts are used to get an early idea of what content we can expect. We will inform authors if their proposed topic is out of range for the book or if it needs modification.
April 20th, 2015: Notification of accepted proposal.
April 1st, 2016: Deadline for all submissions. There (really) will be no extension of the deadline.
June 30th, 2016: Editorial feedback and reviews go out to the authors.
March 1st, 2017: Deadline for submitting revised and formatted chapters, including all final image files (information to follow). Formatting guidelines as determined by the publisher will be disseminated later.
June 1st, 2017: All chapters will be submitted to publisher by the editors
December 2017/January 2018: Intended publication date. Revisions will be published ongoing as the need and interest arise.
The GURbook.com website will form the main point of disseminating news and updates on the book the broader community, including selected chapters, depending on publisher permissions.
Please note that the deadlines are important. Extensions will inevitably lead to problematic and time-consuming delays in the book publishing process (we have seen this happen too many times).
